Zero Optik Olympus OM Primes
A lot of the vintage lens game is about the beautiful flaws inherent in older lens designs. But a lot of times it goes too far— lenses are so low contrast they're muddy, they flare so much you can't keep them from veiling, etc. But the Olympus have a very nice touch, enough softness to take the edge off, but retain detailed and crisp. Flares tend to be warm and saturated. They also check some unique pragmatic boxes as well. Ultra small and lightweight, improved and impressive close focus, including 2 macro lengths. And thanks to the legendary designs by Yoshihisa Maitani, every lens in the set is a consistent F2 (although yes, our lenses are marked with T stops for accuracy). I've crossed paths with Alex Nelson and the Zero Optik crew a handful of times over the past years. I'm always impressed with their attention to detail and elegant designs.
